MICROSOFT ALREADY WORKING ON WP 8.5 AS WINDOWS PHONES 8.1 LAUNCH IS CLOSE

Microsoft plans to change the start screen in Windows Phone 8.5.

In addition, Windows Phone 8.1 will allow developers to choose a shorter update period for their Live Tiles.

Currently, the update happens every 30 minutes, but Windows Phone 8.1 will introduce a shorter update period of 1 minute.

Microsoft is holding their BUILD developer conference in April. There, the software giant will release the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1, which is scheduled to hit devices soonest.

NOKIA LUMIA 930 TO BE RELEASED ON THE 19TH OF APRIL

Nokia announced its most anticipated Android-powered phones (Nokia X series) originally rumored Normandy at the MWC (Mobile World Congress).

But the rumored Lumia 930 and Lumia 630/635 were nowhere to be seen. Nokia might be saving those for a separate event on April 19.

News of the event comes from popular rumor source Evileaks.

Two weeks earlier, Microsoft will be holding the BUILD conference. It is expected to bring Windows Phone 8.1 with the Cortana virtual
assistant and Start screen
backgrounds .

According to rumors , the Lumia 930 will be similar to the Lumia Icon/929 but for GSM networks and possibly with a 4.5" screen instead of a 5" one.

The Lumia 630/635 will
succeed the Lumia 620 and offer slightly higher-end specs than the 525, including dual-SIM.

WHY WILL RUSSIA BLOCK UKRAINIAN ACTIVIST WEBSITES?

As Russia continues its military intervention into the revolution-rocked Ukraine, authorities are now blocking 13 activist websites on the Russian social media network, VKontakte.

The Russian Prosecutor’s General Office ordered the agency’s overseeing media, Roskomnadzor, to block off dissident websites, accusing them of encouraging “terrorist activity,” reports the AP.

Websites seem to be just the start of Russia’s plan. Foreign Policy reports that “the Russian forces occupying Crimea are jamming cell phones and severing Internet connections between the peninsula and the rest of Ukraine.”
Some telephone services have been blocked and Crimean government web portals taken offline.

Adam Segal, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, hinted at their future intentions.
“If there is military conflict, cyber attacks will be used to degrade the ability of conventional forces to operate.”

IS LG LOOKING TO BUILD YEAR NEXUS 6?

LG as set again to produce this year next-gen Nexus device. This would be the third consecutive Nexus device built by LG after Google used Samsung for the Galaxy Nexus.

Specific details about the upcoming phone are still missing in action but if history repeats, the phone will be based roughly off of an exsiting LG device– most likely the rumored and unannounced LG G3.

Google’s Sundar Pichai indicated during MWC that the next Nexus phone will not hit stores until the second half of the year.

It could be announced in June and released in July.

Facebook has rollout a new look for its News Feed which was announced last year but never launched.

According to Techcrunch, the changes are all visual: a new font for the bulk of the text (Helvetica for Macs and Arial for PCs); a new “card” arrangement; bolder presentation for images; and a lighter and more simplified left- hand column — changes that will give the desktop experience more parity with Facebook’s mobile apps.

The changes are getting turned on over the next few weeks worldwide.

Will It Affect The Adverts On Facebook?

None of the changes affect advertising on the site, or how Facebook surfaces content to people. That is, in other words if you are a marketer on the social network, you don’t change anything.
On that front, there will continue to be updates to the news feed algorithm over time.

Marra says that Facebook wanted to take some time to really think them through.
“Over the last year we have been taking time and listening to what people think about the redesign, lots of interviews with users to understand what parts were working and what parts were not. Some changes were getting in the way of using Facebook.”

FACEBOOK MESSENGER APP IS NOW ON WINDOWS PHONES [DOWNLOAD HERE]

It's been a while I posted... I actually had some issues. Thanks for the calls and messages I really appreciate them.

Today, I'm happy to announce to you that the famous Facebook Messenger which has been on Android and IOS devices and has witnessed various updates is now available for the Windows Phone platform.

I'm very sure that it's because of the newly released Nokia's own Android phone (Nokia X).

Just like its iOS and Android
counterparts, Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone lets you send stickers and photos as well as share your location in your messages, and group messaging is also supported.

Though not ot all features are there yet, though. The voice
messaging is not supported in this release.

Some of these features are already built into the Windows Phone platform, but with this release, Microsoft will replace the functionality with the Facebook Messenger app. We’re likely to see those changes in the upcoming
Windows Phone 8.1 update, which should be arriving in April 2014.

I won't be surprised if I see more Android apps on Nokia phones now. Let's just watch out for them.
