√ faster dual-core

√ 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 processor and

√ Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
version.

The rest of the specs remain
intact as the previous one.

In the Netherlands it costs about €180.
There is no info on if this overclocked edition will hit other markets as well.

HP LAUNCHES NEW ANDROID TABLET

I thought it was a false info at first about HP announcing its new Android Tablet phone. Maybe because it was launched on a lowkey :-)

It's like any other tablet at a very cheap and affordable price that comes with it.
Check out:
         - LG looking to build Nexus 6

What are the Specs?

√ 7.85-inch screen with a 1,024 x 768 resolution
√ 1GB of RAM
√ 16GB of storage
√ 25GB of free Box cloud storage
√ microSD support and
√ 3,800mAh battery.

The HP 8 tablet is available in silver, measures 200.3 x 136.3 x 7.95 mm and weighs 0.69 pounds (or around 313g).
It has been revealed to be a
few pixels less than what is
expected in the usual Android
Tablets and slated at $170 (#27,200)

We can see that there is no expected increase for HP’s tablet market share as the product is more of the same with the HP 7.

I think the Smartphones Market competition is too strong for them OR I guess they are being clever???

What's your say?

HTC has also begun seeding the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Butterfly S.
The smartphone received
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Sense UI 5.5 in January, but it seems HTC has been already working hard on the KitKat firmware.

The new firmware is available over the air and weighs about 740MB.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 GETS ITS OWN APP STORE FOR KIDS

Do you let your children play
with your phone, but want to make sure they’re downloading apps that are appropriate for them.

There was a particular day I went for an event at Ikeja, Computer Village. I was marvelled when I saw two kids of about age 3-5 operating their daddy's iPad with dexterity. I was amazed cos they knew everywhere the games were located on the device... Smart Kids indeed.

Well, it looks like Samsung has got your back with the Samsung kids app store.

In addition the phone’s “kid’s
mode”, the S5 will also give users access to a kids only app store.

The apps are all developed for, children.

That Means Junior Won’t Be Able To Access Grand Theft
Auto anything or Modern Combat...

Though they will have some kid-friendly cute games at
their disposal.

Nice and secured move from SamsungMobile.

What have you got to say?

WORLD BANK SUPPORT LAGOS EKO SECONDARY SCHOOLS PROJECTS WITH $42M

The World Bank has pledged to support the Lagos Eko Secondary Schools project with $42 million to enhance the education sector in the state.

The World Bank's pledged was contained in a statement issued in Abuja.
It said that the new fund already approved by the bank's board was an additional amount to the existing loans to the state.

"The new IDA credit of over 42
million dollars to the Lagos EKO Secondary School Project is an addition to an original credit of $95 million. This systematically benefited over 620,000 students a year in 667 public secondary schools in Lagos State between 2009 and 2013.
"It will allow strong results to be sustained and evaluated in
hundreds of secondary schools and expand others," it said.

The World Bank said that the grant had also helped to increase the number of poor children accessing quality secondary education.
It also added that it helped
technical college graduates from low-income backgrounds to find well-paying jobs.

The World Bank said that the grant had further helped students to improve dramatically in Basic Education Certification Examination.

Student scores from beneficiary schools went up from 30 per cent to 70 per cent in English, 31 per cent to 45 per cent in Mathematics and 27 per cent to 65 per cent in Basic Sciences.

It said the results of the June 2013 West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate external examinations showed that 41 per cent of students from beneficiary schools passed with five credits and above compared with over 18 per cent before the project.

Commenting on the development, World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly, said the grant would provided
children from poor homes
opportunity to access quality
education.
"When students from poor families have the opportunity
to go to secondary school and
acquire sound knowledge and skills, they stand a fair chance of getting a good job or accessing economic opportunities later in life.
"This contributes to eliminating extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity in furtherance of the World Bank's two main goals,"
she said.
