LG REVEALS G WATCH - THE FIRST SMART WATCH BY GOOGLE ANDROID WEAR

LG reveals the G Watch, set to be the first smart watch powered by Android Wear.

LG Watch out, it's the LG G Watch. LG has revealed a picture of the forthcoming smart watch set to be one of the first wearable devices to be powered by Google's Android Wear.

LG took to Twitter to show off the image of the G Watch, although it's yet to reveal any specs. LG says the G Watch is "Coming Soon".

Android Wear is a modified version of the mobile Android operating system adapted for watches and other wearable devices.

Because wearable devices may sport only a small screen -- or maybe no screen at all -- it makes heavy use of Google Now voice recognition.

LG joins Asus, HTC, Motorola, and Samsung in making hardware utilising Android Wear, with Broadcom, Imagination, Intel, MediaTek, and Qualcomm as chip
partners.

Forthcoming devices to use Android Wear also include Motorola's planned Moto 360.
