The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics
(ASUP) has lamented the death of former
National President of the Academic Staff Union
of Universities (ASUU), Professor Festus Iyayi,
describing the don as “a victim of executive
recklessness.”
The union, in a condolence message to ASUU
President, Dr Nasir Faggae and members of
university academic community commiserated
with ASUU on the death of one of its most
prominent members.
The National Publicity Secretary of ASUP, Mr
Clement Chirman, in the statement, described
Iyayi as an ardent believer of justice whose
interest is in the common good of the country,
adding that it will be difficult to find a
replacement for him.
